Poetic Exploration of the Heart

All That You Are

Like a beautiful woman in a million dollar dress,
Like a solitaire diamond that doesn’t need to impress,
Like a night sky’s shiny star, all that you are.

Like a steel door shut right in my face,
Like a stone in no need of touch or embrace,
Like a heart distant and far, all that you are.

Like a song of freedom sang by a bird in a cage,
Like a prayer that comes from a heart of rage,
Like a heart distant and far, all that you are.
