Poetic Exploration of the Heart

Laughing With Reality

Laughing With Reality

It’s amazing how little is needed to change our perspective; and even more amazing how often it’s precisely that little we seem to lack. But once the perspective changes, everything falls into place.

Like waking up after a long dream, slowly coming to senses, becoming aware of surroundings, beginning to recuperate the feeling in numb hands, moisture in dry mouth. The mind still wonders how much of the dream is actually real, but in no time the dream will wear off, leaving barely a lovebite on the skin.

I look at reality. She looks right back at me, whipping me into shape with her crisp, uncompromising laughter. I’d better learn to laugh with her if I want to make it through. For the first time in a long time this seems easy enough to do.
