Poetic Exploration of the Heart

Swimming in Sunset

There is nothing
quite like swimming
in that short interval
just before
the day breathes out
its last breath.
The sun bleeds out,
leaving a smudged stain
across the sky
meeting its death

The wind is quiet
the sea is still
Last rays of light
glued to my skin,
As I dive into
the sea, I think,
this is the way
it’s always been.

This is the way
it always should be, to see
infinite beauty
when the light is dying
and know
that swimming
is just like
flying.

Nothing much to it,
but letting go.
