The luminous evanescence of love
Reminiscent of the fragrance of a rose
As potent as impotent am I
Just one breath to overdose
Inhale it deeply let it percolate
I heist what I can before it’s late
Premature by nature the metamorphosis
Takes love from nascence to necrosis
Yet it is between those two antipodes
That the whole microcosm abodes
The sapient heart, if there ever was one
Would surely know what needs to be done
Out of the way, liberate from sway!
If it can hope to elude the desolate mood
Its claims must be relinquished for good
Its got the power of regeneration
A new day, a new initiation.
