Poetic Exploration of the Heart

With a Little Bit of Luck

With a little bit of luck,
One good hand,
We could have been winning
Our way until the end.

With a little bit of truth,
We could have
Seen where we were going
We could have tried another way

I can’t just stop being me,
No matter how hard I try,
I will always carry a scar on my heart
Knowing that just as love is born
So love can die.

And I refuse to equate
Love with romantic lies,
That’ll make you think you’ve found your mate
But before you know, love’s gone,
And it’s too late.

With a little bit of faith
Giving up
Would have been much harder
For me and you to do

With a little bit of love,
We could have
Lasted a bit longer
That’s a lie that I used to believe
