Poetic Exploration of the Heart

Alice and the Mad Bunny

Be a Winner

There are two kinds of people:
winners and losers
and I am not going to waste my words
on the latter
since the latter don’t matter.
I will tell you about the winners,
those bold, daring sinners.
They are the ones who deserve my word:
creative, fearless,
they change the world!

With every thought
With every desire
With every move
the winners go forward,
get past the hurdles,
they grow and improve
The winners know,
really know,
deep in their heart
that they have the power
future to create and
past to rewrite.

If you want to be part
of that in crowd,
you must think for yourself
and dare to speak up loud.

But first of all,
You must find a way
to unravel the beasts that guard
the darkness of your heart
It’s in this kingdom of hurt and dismay
where soul’s jewels are wasting away
those precious pearls that have drowned
without a single sound
to the oblivion of your heart.
At the time
you let them settle there
because they were tearing you apart.

And that’s just fine,
everyone needs time.

But if you’re a winner
than sooner or later
you’ll dive back inside
arms open wide
to that eerie dwelling
where your demons hide
ready to wage wars
to reclaim what’s yours
rising to the bottom
and you will come through –
simply because that’s what winners do.

And that’s all there is to it, really…

If you want to be a winner,
you must set out to win the fight.
If you want to cast a long shadow
You have to stand in the light.
